On February 28, Israel and the United States carried out a series of strikes on Iranian territory. Major cities and military infrastructure facilities came under attack, including military bases and command centres. In response, Iran launched missile strikes against Israel, as well as against several other countries in the region — including targets and airspace in the UAE, Jordan, Iraq, and Syria. Iranian state media reported that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei, was killed as a result of the strikes. According to official statements from Tehran, the attack occurred while he was at his working residence.
As of March 4, the situation in the region remains extremely tense. The sides continue to exchange statements, and new episodes of escalation are being recorded. Information is being updated as new reports emerge.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the launch of the seventeenth wave of Operation "True Promise-4,” codenamed “Sacred: O, Messenger of Allah,” Tasnim News Agency reports, citing the IRGC press service.
According to the report, the IRGC Aerospace Forces have launched more than 40 missiles at U.S. and Israeli targets over the past several hours.

A few hours earlier, Israeli forces announced that they had carried out a new “large-scale wave” of strikes on Iran, targeting launch sites, air defence systems, and other infrastructure.
On Wednesday morning, Iranian state media reported explosions in several parts of the country, including west of the capital, Tehran.

A short while ago, the Israeli Air Force, acting on intelligence provided by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), completed an additional wave of strikes on command centres of what it described as the “Iranian terrorist regime” across Tehran, the IDF reports.
“As part of the strikes, the IDF dropped dozens of munitions on the Basij and internal security command centers that are subject to the Iranian terror regime.
The targeted command centers were used by the Iranian regime to maintain control throughout Iran and maintain the regime’s situational assessments.
The IDF also struck the regime’s Ground Force’s Supply and Logistics Directorate, as well as missile launchers and other systems.
The IDF will continue to degrade the Iranian terror regime’s infrastructure,” the statement said.

According to Qatari authorities, an Iranian ballistic missile struck Al Udeid Air Base — the largest U.S. military base in the Middle East — with no casualties reported, according to CNN.
The Qatari Ministry of Defence stated that it had successfully intercepted another ballistic missile launched toward the country from Iran.
CNN said it had reached out to the Pentagon for comment.

The Pentagon has identified four of the six American service members killed in an Iranian drone strike on March 1, CNN.
The fallen soldiers are: Capt. Cody Khork, 35; Sgt. Declan Coady, 20; Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor, 39; and Sgt. 1st Class Noah Tietjens, 42. All four were assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command, an Army Reserve sustainment unit out of Iowa.

The identities of the two other soldiers killed in Sunday’s strike have not yet been released.

Another U.S. Air Force F-15 fighter jet has been shot down by Iranian air defence forces, the Tasnim News Agency reports, citing sources.
On March 2, Iranian state television reported that the country’s air defence forces had downed an F-15 fighter jet over the skies of Kuwait, and that the pilots operating the aircraft had ejected.

Abdolhamid Rahbar, commander of the 15th Khordad Unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was killed along with four other IRGC members in an attack in Isfahan, Iran International reports, citing the ISNA.

The Commander of the United States Central Command (United States Central Command, CENTCOM), General Brad Cooper, presented an interim report on the results of Operation “Epic Fury” targeting Iran.

According to his statement, more than 200 fighter jets and strategic bombers, including B-2, B-1 and B-52 aircraft, carried out airstrikes on deeply buried Iranian missile facilities and command posts. In addition, naval forces sank 17 vessels, including a submarine.
The United States is hunting down the remaining mobile missile launchers, while Iran has responded with more than 500 ballistic missiles and over 2,000 drones. Two U.S. carrier strike groups are encircling Iran at sea, and for the first time, long-range PrSM missiles and LUCAS kamikaze drones have been deployed, Cooper stated.
The operation, which is ongoing and has no set end date, involves more than 50,000 U.S. service members.

Saudi Arabia’s air defence systems intercepted two cruise missiles over the central part of the country.
As reported by Gulf News, the Saudi Ministry of Defence announced the interception.
“The Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia confirmed that its defence forces successfully intercepted and destroyed two cruise missiles over the Al-Khurj area,” the agency said, citing the ministry.

An Iranian drone attacked a CIA facility located within the U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia, a source familiar with the situation told Reuters.
On March 3, it became known that part of the roof of one of the buildings at the U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia had partially collapsed. The incident occurred as a result of a drone strike. According to the report, the attack was carried out on March 2 by Iranian forces.
