Israel kills Hamas commander linked to October 7 attack in Khan Yunis
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency continue operations to identify and eliminate militants who infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7, 2023, attack known as “Black Saturday.”
According to a statement from the IDF press service, Taha Abu Ayada, a Nukhba unit commander in the Khan Yunis area, was killed on July 1 during a military operation led by the IDF’s 143rd Division in the Gaza Strip, per Caliber.Az.
Abu Ayada was responsible for leading the assault on a gas station near Kibbutz Magen during the October 7 incursion. In recent weeks, he also oversaw and took part in numerous attacks against Israeli forces in the Khan Yunis region.
The IDF and Shin Bet continue their efforts to locate and neutralise other Hamas operatives involved in the events of October 7, as part of Israel’s broader counterterrorism campaign.
