Israeli army: Over 100 munitions dropped on Khamenei’s bunker
The Israeli military provided details of a large-scale strike on central Tehran targeting a major underground command bunker, dropping over 100 munitions on Khamenei’s bunker, an official army spokesperson, Brigadier General Effie Defrin, said at a briefing.
He stressed that around 50 Israeli Air Force fighter jets participated in the raid, dropping “over 100 munitions” on the facility, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
A 3D reconstruction of the bunker was shown, which had been built for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed on February 28 during the initial hours of bombings by Israeli and US forces.
“This was a secret bunker from which Khamenei was supposed to direct the war against Israel. It was neutralised before he could use it, but senior regime leaders continued to operate from it, believing it was secure. They were mistaken,” Defrin asserted.
