Israeli strike on Lebanon's Baalbek kills five, injures 15
At least five people were killed and 15 others injured on the morning of March 4 when an Israeli airstrike hit a four-story residential building in the Lebanese city of Baalbek.
CNN, citing Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA), reported that rescue teams were working to extract survivors from beneath the rubble. CNN said it was unable to independently verify the reports and had sought comment from the Israeli military.
The strike came amid continued Israeli bombardment across Lebanon on Wednesday morning. Earlier, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health said that at least six people were killed in an airstrike on the town of Aramoun, south of Beirut.
NNA also reported additional strikes on a hotel in Hazmieh, near Beirut, as well as in southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military issued a new evacuation order covering more than a dozen Lebanese towns and villages, warning residents that further strikes were possible on Wednesday morning. The listed locations were primarily in southern Lebanon, where Israeli forces have been targeting positions of Hezbollah.
