Italy approves 12th military assistance package for Ukraine
Italy has formally authorised its 12th package of military aid for Ukraine, according to the country’s Official Gazette.
The decree, signed by Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto and endorsed by the heads of the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Economy, outlines the provision of another batch of military equipment, supplies, and materiel to the Ukrainian government.
For security reasons, the full list of items, prepared by Italy’s General Staff, remains classified and is not publicly disclosed. The decree specifies that all equipment and materials will be supplied free of charge and written off from Italy’s inventory. Additionally, descriptions of the weapons will be created solely for accounting purposes, and the delivery schedules are required to be as rapid as possible.
Earlier, Minister Crosetto had announced the new package of military assistance, emphasising Italy’s continued commitment to supporting Kyiv. “As far as Ukraine is concerned, our position remains unchanged. We continue to help Kyiv with everything we can,” he said.
Italy has been providing military support to Ukraine since the outset of Russia’s full-scale invasion. The government has repeatedly extended authorisations for military assistance, with parliamentary approval required to continue weapons deliveries.
Previously, Italy delivered its 11th package of aid, which included notable items such as the Italian variant of the M113 tracked armoured personnel carrier, the VCC-2 Camilino.
