Italy has no plans to nationalize Lukoil refineries yet

The Italian government is currently not planning to nationalize Lukoil's ISAB refinery on the island of Sicily, but is closely monitoring the situation. According to TASS, Bloomberg reported this on Tuesday, citing a source.

Earlier on Tuesday, Reuters, citing sources in the Italian government, informed that the authorities of the republic are considering the possibility of temporarily nationalizing this refinery in the event of sanctions against the Russian oil and gas sector. It was alleged that Economic Development Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti plans to raise the issue of nationalization of the enterprise at a cabinet meeting on Thursday.

According to Reuters, ISAB is the largest refinery in Italy in terms of refining volumes - it accounts for about 22% of all refining capacity in the country.
