Khankendi plugged to Azerbaijan's power grid VIDEO
Azerbaijani authorities have been working intensively to resolve the issues discussed at the meeting with representatives of Armenian residents living in the country's Garabagh region last week.
The Azerbaijani Presidential Administration told Azertag on September 24 that, as a next step, the city of Khankendi was unplugged from the Armenian energy system and connected to the Azerbaijani power grid.
In 2021, reserve sockets for Khankendi were installed at the Shusha substation, built by Azerenergy and commissioned with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev.
From September 19, 2023, Azerenergy began installing additional 110 kV high-voltage towers near the Shusha substation and connecting them to the Khankendi line. The process has already been completed.
At the same time, Azerenergy and Azerishig employees inspected the transmission and distribution network and protection systems, after the line was put into operation.
Khankendi is now under the light of Azerbaijan.
