Kuwait’s new ambassador signals deepening cooperation with Azerbaijan PHOTO
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov warmly welcomed Kuwait’s newly appointed Ambassador, Mohammad Faisal Al-Mutairi, during a meeting on November 29, marking an important step in strengthening bilateral ties.
During the meeting, Al-Mutairi presented his credentials, officially beginning his diplomatic mission, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
Minister Bayramov extended his congratulations and expressed optimism for the ambassador’s role in fostering closer cooperation between the two nations.
This year’s milestone — the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait — set a fitting backdrop for the discussions. Both sides highlighted their satisfaction with the progress of bilateral and multilateral partnerships over the years.
The conversation focused on enhancing collaboration across key sectors, including trade, investment, and tourism. The role of the joint intergovernmental commission was underscored as crucial for driving these efforts forward. They also reaffirmed mutual support in international platforms such as the UN, Non-Aligned Movement, and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
Reflecting on Azerbaijan’s successful COP29 presidency, the discussion acknowledged its significant impact on global climate change efforts.
It was emphasised that the successful conference chaired by Azerbaijan will make a great contribution to the fight against climate change.
Ambassador Al-Mutairi expressed confidence in the upward trajectory of Azerbaijan-Kuwait relations and pledged his dedication to strengthening these ties further.
As the two nations celebrate three decades of partnership, this meeting showcased a shared commitment to deepening cooperation and exploring new opportunities for mutual growth.
It should be noted that previously Al-Mutairi served as Kuwaiti ambassador to Mongolia. His tenure lasted for 6 years.
