Lithuania hands over to Ukraine batch of military equipment worth millions
Lithuania handed over to Ukraine a batch of heavy mortars worth tens of millions of euros.
This was announced on Thursday with reference to the Minister of Defense of the Baltic Republic Arvydas Anusauskas, the BNS agency reported.
“We sent military assistance to Ukraine - we handed over heavy mortars, the number of which we will not name,” he said in the message. “The residual value of the armament is estimated at tens of millions of euros.”
As the head of the defense department noted, Vilnius regularly sends weapons and ammunition to Kiev. “It’s hard to even name everything. About a month ago I counted about 35 positions. Not only Stinger missile systems have been handed over, but also other anti-aircraft and anti-tank weapons, grenades, machine guns, machine guns, communications equipment,” Anusauskas specified.
