Finnish president predicts timeline for resolution of Ukraine conflict
Finnish President Alexander Stubb has forecast that the conflict in Ukraine could be resolved within three to six months, following a statement made at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
He stated, "what was once a 24-hour window has now turned into a period of roughly three to six months, which is likely the timeframe we are working with," Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump has tasked his special representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, with resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine within 100 days.
The publication notes that while few believe Kellogg will succeed in achieving this ambitious deadline, his appointment is seen as the first step toward initiating peace talks, which Trump is expected to personally oversee. Kellogg will advise Trump on potential negotiations, although it remains unclear whether the US president requires any guidance on the matter.
Trump warned that Russia would face significant consequences if it rejects a deal to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He also stated that he plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin "after organizing their negotiations" to end the war swiftly.
The development highlights the continued diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating the crisis, with key political figures taking proactive roles in pursuing a resolution.
