Four NATO countries to buy thousands of Piorun air defence systems

Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Norway have agreed to jointly purchase several thousand Piorun man-portable air defence systems.

A framework agreement was signed at the MESKO plant in Skarżysko-Kamienna, Caliber.Az reports per RMF24.

The purchase will be financed through the European SAFE program and is estimated to cost around 8 billion zlotys (nearly $2 billion). More than 80% of the systems will be delivered to Poland, with the remainder allocated to Lithuania, Latvia and Norway.

The executive contract is expected to be signed within the next two weeks.
