Scholz warns of challenges ahead for Europe in wake of Trump presidency
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz issued a warning regarding the implications of Donald Trump's return to the presidency, emphasizing that Europe must prepare to face significant challenges in the evolving geopolitical landscape.
Scholz made his comments during a joint press conference in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron, where the two leaders discussed the shifting dynamics affecting transatlantic relations, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
“President Trump will, that much is already clear, be a challenge,” he noted.
Scholz underscored the necessity for Europe to bolster its strength and resilience in light of the uncertainties ahead.
"Europe must be strong and resilient in a world that, to put it very cautiously, is in motion," he stated.
Earlier, in a message of congratulations to newly inaugurated US President Donald Trump, Scholz emphasized the longstanding partnership between Germany and the United States.
