Trump to halt foreign aid that conflicts with US interests
Upon taking office, US President-elect Donald Trump plans to sign an executive order aimed at halting foreign aid to countries whose actions conflict with the strategic interests of the United States, according to senior officials from his incoming administration.
One of the immediate consequences of this order is expected to be the suspension of US financial contributions to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), the officials indicated, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
Trump, who is set to return to the White House on January 20, 2025, is preparing for his second term after serving as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021. On his first day back in office, he has pledged to sign over one hundred executive orders, including the reversal of many policies from his predecessor, Joe Biden. Trump has also vowed to address the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and take steps to avoid a third world war.
Additionally, it has been reported that Trump will instruct US agencies to conduct a comprehensive review of the nation’s trade policies.
