US A-10 attack aircraft loses wing after direct hit at Jordan air base

Several US military aircraft were damaged in a nighttime strike on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, including an A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft that lost a wing.

CBS reporter Jennifer Jacobs confirmed on X that the A-10 took a direct hit, tearing off one of its wings, Caliber.Az reports.

Around eight F-15 fighter jets also sustained minor damage but have already returned to service.

“The overnight damage came after the US attacked five Iranian tankers in retaliation for Iran targeting a U.S. Navy warship. In response, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed they launched attacks at eight tankers and two warships, including the base in Jordan,” she added.
