Massive Khojaly genocide awareness campaign hits New York streets PHOTO
An awareness-raising campaign marking the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held in New York, supported by Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the American-Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Association.
According to the Committee, trucks equipped with LED screens displaying slogans such as “Justice for Khojaly,” “Khojaly – Their Courage and Pain Remain With Us,” and “Never Forget: Khojaly Genocide” traveled through New York’s central streets, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The route included Times Square, the United Nations headquarters, Wall Street, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty area, Central Park, and major public squares, with stops in front of The New York Times building.
The vehicles also featured QR codes, allowing residents to access detailed information about the tragedy and its historical context.
Similar campaigns were held in other US cities, including Washington, D.C., and Boston, reflecting a coordinated effort to raise international awareness of the Khojaly genocide and honor its victims.
