Media: Nearly 2,000 killed in Iran since start of US-Israeli strikes
Nearly 2,000 people have been killed and at least 20,000 injured in Iran since the start of US-Israeli strikes, according to information reported by The Jerusalem Post, citing a statement from Maria Martinez of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Martinez said the death toll has exceeded 1,900, highlighting the growing humanitarian impact of the ongoing escalation. She also emphasised the critical role being played by the Iranian Red Crescent Society, which she described as the only nationwide humanitarian organisation currently operating across the country.
According to her statement, the organisation continues to function throughout Iran despite the intensifying conflict, providing essential assistance amid mounting casualties and widespread disruption.
