Military intelligence: Ukrainian official's wife poisoned UPDATED
Marianna Budanova, the wife of Ukraine's Military Intelligence Chief Kyrylo Budanov, has been poisoned.
Budanova was hospitalised due to heavy metal poisoning, a representative of the military intelligence agency (HUR) told The Kyiv Independent.
The HUR representative confirmed Babel's report in a comment for the Kyiv Independent.
She was reportedly hospitalised after a prolonged deterioration of her health, Babel wrote.
"The course of treatment is now being completed, and then there will be a check-up by the doctors," Babel's source said.
"These substances are not used in any way in everyday life and military affairs. Their presence may indicate a purposeful attempt to poison a specific person."
Budanov previously said that Russia made several attempts at his life in the past.
Meanhwile, the intelligence services have unveiled the health condition of head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry Kyrylo Budanov after information about the poisoning of his wife was spread.
Budanov has not been poisoned. His health condition is good, RBC-Ukraine reports citing the sources in the intelligence services.
“There are no problems with his health condition,” one of the sources added.
