Stabbing attack in Bavaria leaves one dead, three injured
An unknown assailant carried out a stabbing attack in Germany on July 1, 2025, targeting employees of an energy supply company in the federal state of Bavaria.
According to the newspaper Bild, one person was killed and three others were injured in the incident.
The attack occurred in the town of Mellrichstadt.
Bild reported that a man armed with a knife assaulted workers at the company Überlandwerk Rhön, located in the Rhön-Grabfeld district.
Police confirmed the incident, emphasising that the suspect has been detained and that there is no ongoing threat to the safety of the facility. However, authorities have not yet confirmed the death of one of the victims.
Some of those injured reportedly sustained serious wounds.
The motives behind the attacker’s actions remain unclear, and it has not been confirmed whether the assailant was an employee of the company.
