Russian forces launch fresh strikes on Zaporizhzhia, industrial site catches fire PHOTO
On the night of July 1, Russian forces once again launched attacks on Zaporizhzhia, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, who reported the incident on his Telegram channel.
He stated that the recent strikes caused damage within the city and surrounding areas, including a fire at an industrial facility, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
Fedorov detailed that Russian troops carried out four separate strikes targeting both the regional centre and the Zaporizhzhia district. The specific types of weapons used have not yet been confirmed.
Among the damage reported was an industrial enterprise that caught fire, as well as several private homes sustaining damage. Fortunately, preliminary information indicates no casualties resulted from this latest attack, although assessments are still ongoing.
The Ukrainian Air Force had previously warned of a high likelihood that strike drones were employed during the assault. An air raid alert was issued not only for Zaporizhzhia city but for the entire region. While there was also a threat of ballistic missile use, no launches were detected that night. Zaporizhzhia and its surrounding region continue to be among the most heavily targeted areas in Ukraine, frequently subjected to Russian strikes.
It is worth recalling that on the night of June 27, the city endured a drone attack involving six strikes, which caused fires and damaged several unoccupied buildings.
Furthermore, on June 29, Russian forces launched another combined assault on Ukrainian territory, including Zaporizhzhia, with rocket strikes damaging an additional industrial enterprise.
