Apple becomes second company in world to surpass $5 trillion market value
28 July 2026 20:09
US technology giant Apple has become the second company in history to exceed a market capitalisation of $5 trillion, according to trading data.
At the start of the trading session on July 28, Apple shares rose to $342.89, allowing the company to cross the $5 trillion valuation threshold.
However, the stock price later fell, bringing Apple’s market capitalisation down to around $4.94 trillion.
Despite the decline, Apple remains the largest company among those listed on the S&P 500 index.
The first company to surpass the $5 trillion market capitalisation mark was Nvidia, which achieved the milestone in October 2025.
The company is currently valued by the market at around $4.75 trillion.
