Military unit commander arrested for bribery in Armenia
The commander of a military unit of the Armenian Armed Forces Economic Support Base has been arrested over a bribe of 19.5 million drams (about $50,000).
As Caliber.Az reports with reference to local media, this was reported by the Anti-Corruption Committee.
Thus, V.M. demanded a bribe of 19.5 million dramas (around $50,000) for illegal actions in the interests of the director of "Masisi Garun Weaving Factory" V.E. and received a part of the sum. According to the investigation, the company became a supplier of the Defense Ministry in 2023 and handed over 70 thousand units of underwear that did not meet the technical requirements (small sizes).
In order to "turn a blind eye" to this, the unit commander demanded 12 million drams as a bribe from the company through the head of the warehouse.
