More global leaders extend birthday greetings to Azerbaijani president Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Russia

Leaders and senior officials from several countries have sent congratulatory messages to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of his 64th birthday, which he will celebrate on December 24, praising his leadership and highlighting the development of bilateral relations with Baku.

Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in a congratulatory letter, said it was “a source of great happiness for me and our people to offer our heartiest felicitations to Your Excellency on your birthday,” wishing President Aliyev good health and continued success, Caliber.Az reports via Azertag

Reflecting on bilateral ties, Sharif noted “the positive trajectory of our bilateral relations,” recalling his visits to Azerbaijan in February and May for bilateral meetings, in July for the 17th ECO Summit in Khankendi, and in November for the Victory Day Parade in Baku. 

“With each visit, my admiration for Azerbaijan's beauty and diverse landscape, has enhanced, as has my love for your friendly and hospitable brotherly people,” he said.

The Pakistani prime minister also highlighted economic cooperation, stating that the two sides are finalising the modalities of the $2 billion investment by Azerbaijan in Pakistan, describing it as a development that “will transform the lives of our peoples, while ensuring mutually beneficial economic cooperation.”

“You may also recall, Excellency, that you had arranged for my visit to the Asan Khidmat Center in Baku. Since then, our two sides have been working together to establish the ‘Pakistan Asan Khidmat’ [PAK] Center in Islamabad, for provision of innovative and citizen-centric solutions in public service delivery, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and institutional integrity. After months of focused work, the Pakistan Asan Khidmat Centre will be ready by 10th January, 2026 and will be inaugurated,” he wrote.

He also noted that the newly established Asan Khidmat Center will demonstrate to the world that the two peoples are benefitting in “every sphere of life, including by efficient and modern public service delivery.”

“I pray for Your Excellency's continued good health and happiness, as well as for the progress and prosperity of the brotherly people of Azerbaijan. Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration,” the letter concludes. 

Additionally, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, also sent a congratulatory message.

“Thanks to Your efforts, the Republic of Azerbaijan has achieved tangible results in strengthening statehood and improving the socio-economic well-being of the population. I hope for the further deepening of bilateral ties, including through the All-Russian political party ‘United Russia’ and the ‘New Azerbaijan’ Party, in the interests of the peoples of our countries. I wish You, dear Ilham Heydarovich, good health, happiness, and all the very best,” the letter reads. 

In the same vein, Igor Babushkin, Governor of the Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation, in his message expressed ”highest respect” for the Azerbaijani leader and sent his ”sincere congratulations”. 

“From the bottom of my heart, I wish You good health, well-being, prosperity, and success in implementing Your planned initiatives! Your efforts aimed at developing an economically prosperous state and improving the well-being of the Azerbaijani people have earned You well-deserved respect not only in Your native country but far beyond its borders,” he wrote.

Babushkin also described Azerbaijan as “a strategic partner of the Russian Federation in all areas of interaction,” noting the importance of interregional cooperation, including ties with the Astrakhan Region.

“I highly value the established friendly ties between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Astrakhan Region and sincerely thank You for the support You provide in strengthening multifaceted mutually beneficial contacts with our region,” the letter concludes. 

Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also added to the the congratulations, noting that in Kazakhstan, President Aliyev is “recognised and respected as an outstanding statesman of our time, and as an experienced and capable politician of global stature.”

He stated that President Aliyev’s years of service are “rightly associated with a period of historic achievements for Azerbaijan,” including the strengthening of sovereignty, international authority, and socio-economic development.

“Under your strong and wise leadership, fraternal Azerbaijan, following a strategic course, will continue its confident progress on the path of sustainable growth and advancement. I greatly value your enormous personal contribution to strengthening Kazakh-Azerbaijani relations of strategic partnership and alliance, and I attach particular importance to their comprehensive reinforcement in the spirit of centuries-old friendship and mutual support,” he added. 

He expressed confidence that joint efforts would give “new impetus to the further development of multifaceted interstate ties and elevate relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan to a qualitatively new level.”

“I wish you, dear Ilham Heydar oglu, inexhaustible energy, family well-being, and continued success in your responsible state activities as well as prosperity and welfare to the fraternal people of Azerbaijan,” the letter adds.
