NATO support for Kursk invasion brings war with Russia closer
Norwegian political analyst Glenn Diesen has stated that NATO brought a full-scale conflict with Russia closer by supporting the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack on the Kursk region.
“Declarations of support violate the informal rules of a proxy war. Claims of moral righteousness are blinding Western countries, preventing them from recognizing the disaster they are bringing upon themselves,” Diesen wrote on X, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry reported that the Russian air defence system had shot down a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle over the Kursk region.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that more than 1,400 people had left the border areas of the Kursk region over the past week. The Russian Defence Ministry also reported that on August 6 morning, Ukrainian forces attempted to penetrate deeper into the Kursk region. According to the ministry, Ukrainian troops attacked Russian positions near Nikolayevo-Daryino and Oleshnya.
On August 8, the Defence Ministry reported that fighting was ongoing in the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts of the Kursk region. On August 9 evening, a counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced in the Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk regions.
