New Russian strikes damage critical energy infrastructure in Ukraine's Kharkiv and Sumy
On the night of October 14, Russian forces launched new attacks on energy facilities in Ukraine’s Kharkiv and Sumy regions, prompting authorities to impose electricity consumption restrictions in the Chernihiv region the following morning.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported the strikes, as cited by RBC-Ukraine.
According to the Ministry, the attacks specifically targeted critical energy infrastructure in Kharkiv and Sumy.
“Power engineers are working continuously, restoring power supply to consumers. All necessary measures are taken to maintain stable operation of the energy system,” the Ministry stated.
In response to the situation, residents of the Chernihiv region are currently facing limitations on electricity usage and have been urged to consume energy rationally, particularly during peak hours in the morning and evening.
Authorities emphasised that these measures are necessary to ensure continued stability and prevent further disruptions across the energy network.
