Nine million Ukrainians suffer power outage
27 December 2022 09:35
About 9 million people in Ukraine currently remain without electricity.
The announcement came from the country's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a video message published on Telegram on December 26.
He admitted that the electricity deficit in the country still remains, and the outages continue.
"As of this evening [December 26], about 9 million people are disconnected [from power grids] in different regions of Ukraine, but the number and duration of disconnections are gradually decreasing," Zelenskyy said.
On December 25, the Ukrainian energy holding company DTEK reported that emergency power outages continue in Kyiv, and it was not possible to stabilize the voltage in the Ukrainian capital's power grids.
