Number of Kyrgyz citizens wounded in conflict with Tajikistan climbs to 122
The Kyrgyz Ministry of Health has published a new report on the victims of armed clashes on the border with Tajikistan. The number of wounded increased from 103 to 122 people.
Some 24 people died, according to Kommersant.
“Around 122 wounded people were taken to hospitals,” the Ministry of Health reported.
The Tajik side did not report any casualties.
The Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) called on Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to peacefully resolve the conflict, which began on September 14, 2022.
Clashes are mainly held along the border in the Batken and Leylek districts of Kyrgyzstan’s Batken region.
In this regard, a state of emergency was introduced in the Batken region on September 17.
