India: Roof falls at historic Delhi shrine, five killed Video
Five people have died after the roof of a dargah, or shrine, collapsed in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area on August 15.
The incident occurred at the Dargah Sharif Patte Shah, a historic building situated within the 16th-century complex that also houses the mausoleum of Mughal ruler Humayun, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The area is known for its religious structures and gardens, attracting both devotees and tourists.
Eyewitnesses described a portion of the lime-green shrine giving way, with rescue teams rushing to the scene.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the collapse, while local emergency services continue to search for anyone who may be trapped.
No official statement has yet been released regarding the identities of the victims.
Residents in the area expressed shock at the sudden accident, highlighting concerns over the maintenance of older heritage structures in the city.
