Overnight raids wipe out 300 Basij field agents
Around 300 Basij commanders and field officers were killed in a series of overnight attacks targeting key command and operational centres of Iran’s Basij forces, Iran International reports.
The strikes reportedly disrupted the logistics and leadership framework of a force heavily involved in suppressing dissent and managing anti-government demonstrations.
Among the most significant hits was a Basij support unit’s repair and maintenance facility, which housed hundreds of vehicles and motorcycles used for street operations and local patrols, and initial accounts suggest the entire fleet was destroyed.
Facilities associated with the Mohammad Rasoulollah Corps, the IRGC unit overseeing the greater Tehran region, were also targeted.
Tehran’s strategic Imam Hadi security centre sustained substantial damage, while the Imam Ali security battalions, known for their central role in quelling protests, experienced significant losses in both personnel and equipment.
