Parts made in Ukraine's allied states found in downed Shaheds
Parts from Ukraine’s allied countries have been founded in the downed Iranian Shahed kamikaze drones, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Alexei Danilov said.
According to him, the parts may have been purchased even before the full-scale war in Ukraine, RBC-Ukraine writes.
”We disassembled them [Shaheds - ed] and, unfortunately, found there parts that are not produced in Iran or Russia," he said.
According to Danilov, this is not the first recorded case, but this issue is already being dealt with. The NSDC secretary suggested that the parts could have been purchased before the full-scale invasion since many of the UAVs were manufactured between 2019 and 2021.
"But this, nevertheless, does not remove certain processes that are still being monitored and reported at the meeting of the Stavka of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief," Danilov noted
Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Iran has long denied supplying drones to Russia. Tehran later admitted its involvement, but stated that it had allegedly provided a small number of drones "before the conflict began”.
Russia, for its part, is actively using the Shaheds to attack Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.
