Patriarch Kirill of Moscow calls for Christmas truce in Ukraine, Donbas

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Rus' has called for a Christmas truce in Ukraine and Donbas from 12:00 (GMT+3) on January 6 till 24:00 on January 7.

In his appeal, he invited the warring sides to cease fire and establish a truce on Christmas, for Orthodox people to be able to attend services on Christmas Eve and on the day of the Nativity of Christ, according to the message posted on the official website of the Moscow Patriarchate.
