Poland may consider deployment of troops in Ukraine - president

Polish authorities may consider sending their forces to Ukraine, said Polish President Andrzej Duda.

In an interview with Bild, he noted that such a scenario depends on a ceasefire in the framework of the Ukrainian conflict and subsequent agreements between the parties.

“It all depends on what agreements will be. If Ukraine decides to hold peace talks with Russia and a decision is made to conduct a peacekeeping operation with the participation of Western soldiers, who, for example, will monitor the observance of the ceasefire, then Poland will take part in it,” Duda explained.

He also added that if such a decision is at the level of the North Atlantic Alliance, then Poland will support it.
