President Aliyev approves action plan on development of transport corridors via Azerbaijan
The action plan for the development of transport corridors passing through the territory of Azerbaijan has been approved.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed the order "On the approval of the Action Plan for 2024-2026 to increase the transit potential of international transport corridors passing through the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and to stimulate transit freight transport," Caliber.Az, citing, the official website of the Azerbaijani president.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Digital Development and Transportation has been instructed to coordinate the measures envisaged in the action plan.
The document, in particular, provides for the reconstruction of the Alat-Osmanli-Astar railway, the construction of new checkpoints on the state border of Azerbaijan with Georgia and Iran (in the village of Agband of the Zangilan district, on the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and in the Astara district), the construction of new customs terminals near the posts "Girmizi Korpu" and "Samur", modernization of the infrastructure to increase the throughput of checkpoints "Girmizi Korpu", "Mazimgara", "Samur", "Bilasuvar", "Astara" and "Shirvanli", construction of four additional railway lines and a container terminal on the territory Baku International Sea Trade Port and others.
