President Aliyev extends national day greetings to Suriname, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent congratulatory letters to the leaders of Suriname and Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of their respective national holidays.
In his letter to Surinamese President Chandrikapersad Santokhi, President Aliyev highlighted the significance of bilateral relations, especially following the Surinamese leader’s visit to Baku during COP29, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azertag.
“On behalf of myself and the people of Azerbaijan, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you and your people on the occasion of the national day of the Republic of Suriname. Your visit to Baku to participate in COP29 holds a special place in the history of Azerbaijan-Suriname relations. I fondly recall our meeting held in the atmosphere of mutual trust and sincerity,” President Aliyev wrote.
The Azerbaijani leader emphasized the potential for strengthening economic ties and expressed readiness to dispatch an expert delegation to Suriname.
“We place great importance on our interstate relations and cooperation with Suriname. To further develop economic and trade relations, a delegation of Azerbaijani experts stands ready to visit your country. I am confident that, in line with the interests of our peoples, we will continue our joint efforts to strengthen the bonds of friendship between our nations and expand our cooperation both bilaterally and multilaterally,” he added.
President Aliyev conveyed his best wishes to President Santokhi and the people of Suriname, expressing hopes for their lasting prosperity and peace.
In another message, President Aliyev extended his congratulations to Željka Cvijanović, Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“On behalf of myself and the people of Azerbaijan, I sincerely congratulate you and, through you, your entire nation on the occasion of the national day of Bosnia and Herzegovina and extend my best wishes. The level of friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina is gratifying,” President Aliyev remarked.
Referring to their meeting during COP29 in Baku, he noted: “I fondly recall my meeting with you during COP29 held in Baku. I believe that we will successfully continue our joint efforts to further strengthen interstate relations and expand our cooperation.”
The Azerbaijani leader wished Željka Cvijanović “robust health, happiness, and success in her endeavours,” while extending his wishes for “everlasting peace and prosperity” for the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
