President Aliyev hails Azerbaijani youth as driving force behind nation’s strength
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has congratulated the nation’s youth on February 2, marking the Day of Azerbaijani Youth, emphasising their vital role as a driving force in strengthening the country’s power across all fields.
In his address, President Aliyev highlighted the historical significance of the day, recalling that thirty years ago, under the initiative of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the first All-Republican Youth Forum was held. He emphasised that the tradition of celebrating Youth Day and organising such forums underscores the state’s commitment to youth policy as a priority of Azerbaijan’s socially oriented agenda, Caliber.Az reports, citing state media.
President Aliyev noted that state programs over the decades have fostered a favourable environment for personal development and socio-political engagement, strengthening the youth’s role in nation-building.
“It is gratifying that a modern, intellectual generation has emerged in Azerbaijan today – one that is deeply attached to our national and moral values while keeping pace with global development trends. Today, you are a driving force enhancing the power of our state across all fields, from the economy to science and culture,” the president said.
He also paid tribute to the youth’s heroism during the 44-day Patriotic War, noting that many of the heroes who ended 30 years of occupation were young people. “This chronicle of Victory stands as an eternal symbol of the Azerbaijani youth’s boundless love for the Motherland and their unshakable will,” he stated.
Looking forward, President Aliyev expressed confidence that Azerbaijani youth will continue to contribute to the country’s development through their innovative potential and creative energy during this new period of national renaissance.
