President Aliyev highlights comprehensive care for children as pillar of Azerbaijan's policy
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev reaffirmed the country's commitment to children's welfare, emphasizing that comprehensive care for young citizens is a cornerstone of the nation's state policy.
The president's remarks were conveyed in his letter to participants at the Sixth All-Republican Forum of Azerbaijani Children, held on December 5, 2024, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azertag.
"Children are the future of society. Our primary responsibility is to provide them with a secure future under a clear sky. Thanks to the unparalleled contributions of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, comprehensive care for children forms an integral part of the state policy in our country," the Azerbaijani president said.
President Aliyev highlighted the significant strides Azerbaijan has made in this domain, noting that the nation continues to enhance opportunities for children to access quality education, hone their skills, and unleash their potential.
The president also stressed the symbolic importance of the forum becoming a tradition, reflecting Azerbaijan's dedication to upholding children's rights.
“This year's Forum is held within the framework of the ‘Green World Solidarity Year.’ The topic of children and ecology, which the forum is dedicated to, is highly relevant and represents special significance in ensuring that our children live in a safe environment,” the head of state noted.
President Aliyev pointed to Azerbaijan's recent hosting of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which extensively discussed the impact of environmental factors on children's health.
He reiterated the importance of global climate action to ensure a "healthy and clean world, a green future" for all children on Earth.
