President Aliyev joins CIS leaders for informal dinner in Moscow
An informal dinner of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Heads of State and Government took place in Moscow on October 7, attended by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
On October 7, President Aliyev arrived in Moscow to participate in the CIS Heads of State Council meeting, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Upon his arrival at Vnukovo-2 International Airport, he was welcomed by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and other officials.
The Azerbaijani president's presence at the summit follows an official invitation extended by Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 19. Putin expressed his anticipation of President Aliyev's attendance, stating, "Russia and Azerbaijan continue to coordinate closely on key multilateral platforms, including the UN and CIS. In October, we will be pleased to welcome Ilham Heydarovich at the CIS Heads of State Council meeting in Moscow, and later at the BRICS Summit outreach meeting in Kazan."
