President Aliyev sees parallel progress in Armenia-Azerbaijan, Türkiye-Armenia diplomacy
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the concurrent progress in regional diplomacy between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as between Türkiye and Armenia, during the panel session “Defining Eurasia’s Economic Identity” at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“If we cannot achieve what we want in the region, we cannot have any aspirations for any kind of a global event. Today, Armenia-Azerbaijan and Turkish-Armenian rapprochement is going in parallel,” Aliyev stated, highlighting the interconnected nature of diplomatic efforts in the South Caucasus, Caliber.Az reports via state media.
The president expressed confidence that formal diplomatic relations would eventually follow this trajectory. “I believe that diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Armenia, as well as between Azerbaijan and Armenia, will also be established in parallel at the same time,” he added, signaling optimism for a coordinated and sustainable regional reconciliation process.
