Romania may refuse to participate in Eurovision
Head of Romanian Television (TVR) Dan Turturica opposed the country's participation in the international Eurovision Song Contest.
In his Facebook post, he also stated that Romania should sue the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) for the moral damage caused, TASS reports.
"The disrespect with which the EBU treats the public television of Romania, Poland, San Marino, Montenegro, Georgia, and Azerbaijan is shocking," he wrote. "I will personally demand from TVR's governing bodies that we no longer participate in Eurovision and explore the possibility of suing the EBU and demanding compensation for the harm caused to our image."
During the Eurovision 2022 in Turin, the organizers annulled the voting results of the national juries of the six countries mentioned, causing their dissatisfaction. For example, the points that the members of the Romanian jury gave to Moldova were given to Ukraine.
As a result, the Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra won with the song "Stefania". The second place went to Great Britain, and the third to Spain. Romania took 18th place.
