Strong 5.9 magnitude earthquake strikes off US’s Oregon coast

A powerful earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale has occurred off the coast of Oregon, the U.S. Geological Survey confirmed.

The quake struck approximately 143 miles west of the city of Bandon, at a shallow depth of just over six miles, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media. 

The seismic event took place at 11:45 p.m. local time on September 25, which corresponds to 10:45 a.m. on September 26 GMT+4.

Authorities have confirmed that no tsunami warning has been issued following the earthquake. There have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
