Russia announces five more countries unfriendly
The Russian government has expanded the list of unfriendly countries. Greece, Denmark, Slovenia, Croatia and Slovakia are also among these countries, according to Russia’s Kommersant newspaper.
Slovenia and Croatia were banned from hiring employees in their diplomatic missions and consular offices in the Russian Federation.
The governmental decree was adopted to implement the presidential decree on measures to influence unfriendly countries dated April 23, 2021.
The decree envisages a restriction up to a complete ban for unfriendly countries to hire employees among those staying on the territory of Russia to work in embassies, consulates and representative offices of state agencies.
Proceeding from the list of the government, diplomatic missions of unfriendly countries can enter into labour relations with a certain number of individuals in Russia.
Greece may hire only 34 people, Denmark - 20, Slovakia - 16. Slovenia and Croatia will be unable to hire employees in their diplomatic missions and consular offices.
The list approved by the government is not final and may be extended. The restrictions were placed on US and Czech diplomatic missions in May 2021.
