Minister: Türkiye, Armenia eye new energy partnership

27 June 2025 17:10

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar has announced that Türkiye and Armenia discussed prospects for cooperation in the energy sector.

The discussions took place during a meeting in Istanbul with Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, David Khudatyan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Bayraktar’s message on X.

Both sides evaluated opportunities to enhance bilateral collaboration in energy.

Efforts to normalize relations between Armenia and Türkiye have been ongoing. In July 2022, an agreement was reached in Vienna, Austria, allowing third-country nationals travelling between the two nations to cross the Armenian-Turkish land border. The same agreement also outlined steps to facilitate direct air cargo transportation, a process that remains under discussion.
