Magnitude 6.2 earthquake strikes southern Philippines

A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck off the southern Philippine island of Mindanao on Tuesday (July 14), according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The earthquake's epicentre was located about 85 kilometres southeast of General Santos, a city of around 679,000 people. It struck at a depth of 57 kilometres, the EMSC said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage following the quake.
Authorities said there was no tsunami threat.
