US failed in bid to control Strait of Hormuz, Iranian ambassador says
The United States has effectively suffered a defeat in its attempts to control the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani has said.
In an article distributed by the Iranian Embassy in Ashgabat, he noted that the Strait of Hormuz — a vital energy artery — now resembles a “hot ball” in the hands of White House politicians and strategists, and every second spent trying to contain it results in growing losses, both in terms of reputation and material costs, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
"The dangerous and complex game initiated by the United States of America with the resumption of strikes on the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran has reached a critical point of no return. Contrary to the traditional scepticism and persistent refusal of officials in Washington to recognise the new realities 'on the ground,' this point clearly demonstrates the United States' de facto defeat in its attempts to manage and control this strategic waterway," the article stated.
Rouzbehani warned that any accidental spark or miscalculation in the Strait of Hormuz could escalate into a destructive, prolonged and exhausting regional war.
