Russian, Belarusian presidents to meet on August 29 to discuss security

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on August 29 to discuss bilateral cooperation, including security issues.

According to Russian media, Lukashenko already arrived in Moscow on August 27.

“Contacts with the president are scheduled for Saturday,” the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

The two leaders are expected to discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation and exchange views on pressing regional and international issues, including efforts to strengthen security.

The Belarusian president will also meet with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to review practical aspects of Belarus-Russia cooperation in trade, the economy and investment, as well as the implementation of joint industrial projects.
