Fire breaks out at memorial complex where Ali Khamenei is buried VIDEO

On July 16, a fire broke out at the Imam Reza religious and memorial complex in the Iranian city of Mashhad, where former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is buried, according to the Tasnim news agency.

Tasnim reported that the blaze started at a construction site within the complex, where workers were carrying out bitumen processing. The incident produced thick smoke that spread across part of the pilgrimage site.

Emergency services quickly contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby areas, the agency said. The blaze has since been extinguished, and authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.

No casualties or damage to the burial site were reported.
