ASTRA: Fire breaks out at Russian oil facility after Ukrainian drone attack PHOTO
A major oil storage facility at the Slavneft-YANOS refinery in the Russian city of Yaroslavl caught fire following a Ukrainian drone attack on July 16, according to OSINT project ASTRA.
ASTRA said the blaze engulfed the refinery's tank farm, a key storage and logistics complex with a capacity of more than 620,000 cubic metres. The facility receives crude oil for processing, blends fuel components to Euro 5 standards, and stores refined products including petrol, aviation fuel, diesel and lubricants before distribution.
Yaroslavl Region Governor Mikhail Yevrayev said the region had come under a Ukrainian drone attack at around 6 a.m. local time. He initially said traffic had been restricted on one of the roads leading from Yaroslavl towards Moscow for safety reasons, but provided no further details.
The governor later said 19 drones had been shot down during the first wave of the attack.
According to Yevrayev, one man was killed, and four others were injured.
