EU, Central Asian states discuss Middle Corridor development
EU and Central Asian states have discussed the Middle Corridor development as part of a meeting between ambassadors of Central Asian countries and senior officials and sectoral representatives of European Union institutions in Brussels.
The main focus of the talks was the practical implementation of key agreements reached during the earlier European Union–Central Asia Summit, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkmen media.
Discussions centred on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor, as well as the advancement of the EU's flagship Global Gateway infrastructure initiative.
Participants held detailed talks on expanding trade and economic cooperation, attracting European investment to the region and coordinating efforts to strengthen regional security.
Another key topic was the alignment of schedules and agendas for upcoming bilateral and multilateral meetings at the highest political levels.
The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, or Middle Corridor, stretches from the China-Kazakhstan border through Kazakhstan, across the Caspian Sea and via Azerbaijan and Georgia to Europe.
