EU top diplomat to visit Armenia
On June 29 and 30, Kaja Kallas, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, will undertake an official visit to Armenia.
The visit will begin on June 29 with a meeting between Kallas and the President of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan. Later that afternoon, the High Representative will visit the headquarters of the EU Mission in Armenia, located in Yeghegnadzor, Caliber.Az reports, citing the website of the European External Action Service.
On June 30, Kallas is scheduled to engage with civil society organisations, reflecting the EU’s focus on strengthening democratic institutions and dialogue in Armenia. Following these meetings, she will hold talks with Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan. The discussions will be followed by a joint press conference at 12:30 PM local time (UTC+4).
The day will conclude with a meeting between Kallas and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, alongside interactions with Young European Ambassadors, members of the Youth Advisory Council, and alumni of the Erasmus+ programme, underlining the EU’s commitment to youth engagement and educational cooperation in the country.
