Azerbaijan continues evacuation of foreign nationals from Iran PHOTO
This morning, June 28, a group of foreign nationals of Iranian origin was evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan.
According to domestic media, the evacuation process was carried out through the Astara border checkpoint in accordance with international humanitarian norms, Caliber.Az reports.
After undergoing registration and the necessary border checks, the evacuees safely crossed into Azerbaijani territory.
They expressed their gratitude to the Azerbaijani state and people for the care, attention, and hospitality extended to them.
The evacuees were then transported toward Baku in vehicles allocated specifically for them. The evacuation of other foreign nationals is ongoing.
The evacuation follows the sharp escalation in military tensions between Iran and Israel that began on June 13, when Israel launched preemptive airstrikes against Iranian nuclear and military sites.
