Iranian Parliament to review first round of US nuclear talks
On February 9, the Iranian Majlis (unicameral parliament) will hold a session to examine the preliminary results of the first round of talks with the United States on Iran’s nuclear file, according to Abbas Moghtadai, deputy chairman of the parliament’s National Security Committee.
“Tomorrow, the Majlis will review the course of negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States in a closed session. It is likely that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will attend,” Moghtadai told IRNA.
The latest round of negotiations on resolving the crisis surrounding Tehran’s nuclear program took place on February 6 in Oman’s capital, Muscat. The Iranian delegation was led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while the U.S. delegation was headed by Presidential Special Envoy Stephen Witkoff.
According to Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi, the Tehran and Washington delegations held very serious consultations on Iran’s nuclear program in Muscat and intend to continue the dialogue.
